Carers NI have been shortlisted as Queen's University Belfast's Student Union RAG Charity of the Year.

Each year members of the QUB Student Union vote to select two charities for their RAG ("Raise and Give") program, as part of the student union elections. Carers NI have been shortlisted, which means we are down to the final six!

Carers NI works throughout Northern Ireland to ensure unpaid carers can access the support and advice they need to continue in their caring roles, and live a good quality of life, free of poverty and ill health. Support from the QUB Student Union will allow us to campaign and fight for the rights of unpaid carers across NI, including carers who are students.

What is an unpaid carer?
A carer is someone who provides care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, addiction, or who needs extra help as they grow older.

You can find more on the Carers NI website about our work and campaigns, as well as information and support for carers - carersni.org.

Visit us on campus!
Visit our information stand in the Student Union on Tuesday 5th March, 10am - 4pm, where you can talk to the Carers NI team to find out about our work and how your vote can help us support carers in NI.

How can I vote?
QUB Student Union members can visit q-su.org between 4 - 7 March and select Carers NI as your 2024/25 QUB RAG charity. This is part of your student union elections.
