A Chorus of Carers
(A poem about the power of collective voice)
I wrote my story—
Just one leaf,
Easily carried on the wind.
Then you shared your story,
And others did too.
Bound together, we became a weighty tome,
Not so easily blown away;
A collective narrative was born.
I spoke up—
But my voice was too soft,
Easily lost in the din.
Then you spoke out,
And others chimed in.
Our symphony of voices swelled,
Vociferous and proud;
Unignorable now.
I felt so alone,
Walking apart—
Tired and overwhelmed.
You fell in step,
The others came too.
Marching together,
Once side-lined, now strong.
We support each other to go on.
