As part of our partnership with Specsavers Home Visits, we are delighted to reveal “The Most Valuable Portrait.”

This one-of-a-kind portrait, painted by acclaimed artist Colin Davidson, has been commissioned to highlight the immense value of the care that unpaid UK carers provide to their loved ones.

The portrait features the face of Jaycee La Bouche who cares for her mum but represents the myriad of unpaid British carers and their experiences. Symbolically valued at £184 billion - the same amount as the invisible care system in the UK - by leading London auction house Roseberys, the portrait aims to shine a much-needed spotlight on these incredible carers who often remain unseen.

“The Most Valuable Portrait” was unveiled at the Saatchi Gallery on 29 May, and is being displayed at London’s South Bank Observation Point from 30 May to 1 June.

We will be auctioning the portrait, with all proceeds from its sale to be donated to Carers UK.
