A huge thank you to the National Lottery Northern Ireland People and Communities fund who have awarded Carers Northern Ireland £384,282 over three years, to fund an Advice and Information service and launch a volunteer recruitment programme.

Richard Meade, Director of Devolved Nations, said:

"We are so grateful to National Lottery Northern Ireland. This crucial grant will help us to increase the support we give to Northern Ireland’s 220,000 unpaid carers. The award will give us the opportunity to develop our advice and Information services, giving carers the specialist, local information they need to understand and exercise their rights and access benefits and local support services. We will also be able to offer greater support to carers giving them more chances to connect and share their lived experiences. And crucially it will support us to recruit more people into volunteer roles for the charity helping us to reach more carers and to support them in their caring roles.”
