Carers Wales responded to the Welsh Government consultation on the Rebalancing Care and Support programme in August 2023. The Welsh Government sought views on a number of proposals, Codes of Practice and Frameworks to reform social care in Wales with the aim of rebalancing it away from complexity and price considerations towards social value and effective partnership.

In our response, we

• Called for additional commitments that the proposed National Office for Care and Support would practice co-production with carers and service users
• Welcomed moves to address the paid care workforce crisis with a National Pay and Progression Framework
• Discussed how the proposed National Framework for Commissioned Care and Support could help to tackle variation in service provision across Wales

Ymatebodd Gofalwyr Cymru i ymgynghoriad Llywodraeth Cymru ar y rhaglen Ail-gydbwyso Gofal a Chymorth ym mis Awst 2023. Gofynnodd Llywodraeth Cymru am farn ar nifer o gynigion, Codau Ymarfer a Fframweithiau i ddiwygio gofal cymdeithasol yng Nghymru gyda’r nod o’i ail-gydbwyso i ffwrdd o gymhlethdod ac ystyriaethau pris tuag at werth cymdeithasol a phartneriaeth effeithiol.

• Croesawu symudiadau i fynd i’r afael ag argyfwng y gweithlu gofal cyflogedig gyda Fframwaith Tâl a Dilyniant Cenedlaethol
• Trafodwyd sut y gallai’r Fframwaith Cenedlaethol arfaethedig ar gyfer Comisiynu Gofal a Chymorth helpu i fynd i’r afael ag amrywiadau yn y gwasanaethau a ddarperir ledled Cymru
