Mark your calendars for the 15th April!
Carers Active Together is a national day of celebration for carers and the power of movement. Across the country, organisations and carers will unite to make being active accessible and enjoyable for unpaid carers in the UK.
We invite community groups, carers organisations, councils, charities, leisure providers, sports clubs and employers to host or support an activity for carers.

What is Carers Active Together?
It’s a day where we can all unite to support unpaid carers across the UK to be active in a way that works for them - at home, in the community, or online.
Whether it's gentle walks, relaxing stretches, swimming or chair-based movement, every activity counts.
Our focus is on:
- Supporting carers’ health and wellbeing
- Raising awareness of unpaid carers and the importance of physical activity
- Showing carers they are part of a supportive national community.

How can your organisation take part?
Your organisation can take part in a range of different ways. For example:
- Host an activity session (30 -45 minutes is perfect!) such as a walk, exercise class or taster session
- Run an event if you’d like to do something larger scale
- Open up an existing activity and welcome carers to join in
- Offer an online or hybrid session for flexibility
- Encourage carers you support to take part in their own way.
Activities don’t have to be too sporty or high-energy, just welcoming and inclusive.

Why take part?
By taking part in Carers Active Together, you’ll:
- Be part of a visible, national show of support for carers
- Help carers feel encouraged to prioritise their wellbeing
- Connect with other organisations working to support carers.
Get involved
We would love organisations across the country to get involved. You can support this national day of activity by organising your own activity and/or by spreading the word with your network.
