Terms and conditions
- The competition is free to enter.
- All art submitted will automatically be entered into the competition as long as it meets prescribed criteria.
- All entrants must be 16 years old or older.
- All entrants must be currently or have previously cared for a loved one.
- Entrants can submit up to five postcards.
- We can only accept postal entries.
- Each entry should include the entrant’s name, contact details, location, postcard art name(s) and a narrative about each postcard art up to 250 words.
- Each entry should be labelled ‘Top’ and ‘Bottom’ on the reverse of the art.
- Carers Wales (Carers UK) cannot guarantee that any art returned will not have been damaged whilst being displayed including hanging fixtures, defacement or any other damages.
- If you would like to submit artwork for which you wish to retain the copyright or have returned to you, you may still enter the exhibition but you will not be eligible for the competition prizes.
- To retain your copyright and / or have artwork returned, please include a note with your entry waiving your right to the competition prize.
- All artwork returned will be at the cost of the entrant.
- Postcard art entered without the entrants’ name or contact details will not be considered for judging but may be used by Carers Wales under the conditions of the competition.
- The competition closes on 1st September 2025. Carers Wales (Carers UK) reserves the right to change this closing date with a minimum of 1 month notice.
- All entries must not have been previously submitted to another competition and must not be submitted to a different competition between the entry and the competition winner’s announcement date.
- Judging criteria is set by Carers Wales (Carers UK) in consultation with the Judging Committee.
- The Judging Committee decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Carers Wales retains the right to withhold any art from the Judging Committee deemed inappropriate to display within a public forum.
- Winning entries will receive a competition prize.
- All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of the copyright in all artwork entered. Entrants must not have breached any laws when creating their artwork.
- It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any art submitted has been created with the consent of anyone who is identifiable in the artwork or they have received consent from a parent/guardian if the identifiable person is under 16 and that they have been advised of the purpose of the submission and that their image may be published by Carers Wales.
- By submitting your artwork, you are giving away (assigning) copyright ownership entirely to Carers Wales (Carers UK) of the art entered. By entering the competition all entrants grant Carers Wales the right to use the images on publicity material, website and social media sites in perpetuity. No fees will be payable for any of the above uses.
- By entering your artwork you are giving Carers Wales (Carers UK) the legal right to auction or sell your artwork to support the charitable objectives of the organisation.
- By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and that Carers Wales reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if Carers Wales has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms the terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all terms and conditions are adhered to. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- All prizes must be claimed within 3 months of the competition winner’s announcement date. All prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
- All entrants information will be kept by Carers Wales (Carers UK) for 3 years after the winners annoucement date. All entrants have the right to request information held by Carers Wales (Carers UK). For Carers UK full privacy document, please see : https://www.carersuk.org/privacy-notice
- This competition is subject to UK and Welsh Government law.
- This competition is open to those in Great Britain and Northern Ireland only. Any submissions from outside Great Britain and Northern Ireland will not be considered by the judging panel.
