It is estimated that there are 1,800 parents in receipt of Carer's Allowance in Scotland who have caring responsibilities for more than one disabled child (under 18). The Scottish Government have considered evidence from carers and stakeholders on the impact of caring for more than one disabled child, in terms of carers' health and wellbeing, and the ability to access paid employment.

To help address this, the Scottish Government have committed to providing additional financial assistance to those caring for more than one disabled child by the end of this parliamentary term (April 2021).  They now want to hear directly from those with experience of caring for more than one disabled child to help them make decisions in the next stage of developing the policy.
