'Me Time' is a chance to do something for your own enjoyment. These online sessions, funded by the Welsh Government, are a place where you can get involved in a range of activities that you may not be able to do normally and explore new opportunities. We will be doing all sorts of things ranging from group viewings of the great wonders of the world, to physical exercise to relaxation and mindfulness and so much more.

These sessions are all about you and your wellbeing.

Come along and have some fun, take a break from your daily routine and share different experiences whilst in the company of other carers.

Find out more about Me Time and what carers have said about supporting their mental health here.

Sessions are being added all the time so please check back frequently to see what else may be occurring.

We also run Care for a Cuppa sessions where you get a chance to chat with other carers. Find out more about these sessions here.

Me Time Wellbeing Days

We are now running Me Time wellbeing days. These days are a chance for you to come along and try out some of the activities we have during our Me Time sessions. Each wellbeing day is themed around activities such as craft and mindful/relaxing activities.

You can attend as many sessions as you would like throughout the day - whether that's one session or all of them!

Some feedback from our most recent Me Time wellbeing day:

“Today’s session made me cry, it touched me and made me realise how I need to look after myself as a carer”

“I have felt very emotional after the session and I realise that sometimes it’s ok to be not ok”

“This has helped me be connected to other carers so I now know I am not alone”

“When I first saw these sessions, I thought I don’t have time for this, but once I made time, I realised how important they are for my wellbeing and I am now eating my words”

Did you know that the biggest threat to cyber security is human error? Did you know that the Coronavirus pandemic caused a 400% increase in cybercrime?

South Wales Police Cyber Protect Officers are here to help you stay safer online. We will show you how to spot fake emails and texts and what to do with them. We will also describe some of the crimes we are dealing with in our dedicated Cyber Crime Unit in South Wales.

We live in an increasingly digital world and knowing how to protect ourselves and others is essential if we want to avoid becoming a victim of the ever-present threat of online scams, hacking and compromises causing loss of data and finances.

We will be providing you with a fun and informative session that will increase your ability to protect yourself and increase your knowledge of all things cyber!

It is suitable for all ages and abilities – no cyber knowledge or skills are necessary! All we ask is that you attend and share what you have learnt with your friends and family to help us keep Wales Safe Online.

Wednesday, 10th November 3-4pm: Cultivating connections to the natural world

Scientists tell us we all have a green gene – not literally coloured green of course but one that causes us to feel attracted to and compelled by the natural world. The aim of these sessions is to help you focus on a particular aspect; supporting your wellbeing by taking you to a different world. They are filled with fun and quirky facts, and are seasonally relevant in order to help you remain connected to the world outside your door.

King’s Garden is a social enterprise that supports those who need help to access the natural world for themselves; those in care homes, hospitals, living with dementia and/other life-impacting conditions.

November – 'Autumn Under the Microscope: getting ready for bed'

Why do leaves change colour at this time of year? How many species of bird do you think are on the move right now? How do squirrels find the nuts they’ve buried?

Join Isa from King’s Garden as we take a detailed look at how plants, birds and mammals are getting ready for winter. It’s a surprisingly busy time. Something completely different for grown-up children.
