    There are around 37,000 people living with the effects of stroke in Northern Ireland3. Almost 2/3 of stroke survivors leave hospital with a disability and rely on the support of loved ones and carers for daily tasks4. This can put enormous physical and emotional strain on carers.

    State of Caring in Northern Ireland 2017

    Carers UK carries out an annual survey of carers to understand the state of caring in the UK. Of the 7000 people who completed this year’s State of Caring Survey, over 600 were from Northern Ireland making it the largest State of Caring Survey carried out by Carers NI to date.
