FatFace launches face coverings to support unpaid carers

23 September 2020

British lifestyle brand FatFace has launched a range of face coverings in a bid to support unpaid carers and raise awareness of their role through the pandemic.

It is donating 100% of the proceeds from its face coverings – now mandatory in all shops - to Carers UK, the national charity supporting unpaid carers looking after family and friends who are older, disabled or seriously ill.

Well-known for its presence on UK high streets, in airports and train stations, FatFace aims to help Carers UK give caring greater visibility amongst the general public through its sales.

It hopes to generate tens of thousands of pounds for the national charity.

The pandemic has been an especially challenging time for unpaid carers, many of whom are having to provide more care to relatives and are coping with high levels of stress, anxiety and exhaustion.

The proceeds from the face coverings will enable Carers UK to continue providing important advice, information and support to unpaid carers and campaign for change that sees their health and finances better considered by policy makers through this pandemic.

Helen Walker, Chief Executive of Carers UK, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be teaming up with the iconic brand FatFace and their fashionable face mask range will really help us increase awareness of the role of unpaid carers amongst the general public.

“The money generated through these face masks will be hugely important in helping us deliver for carers at a time when they are under huge pressure managing the risk of Covid-19 to their loved ones.

Liz Evans, Chief Executive Officer of FatFace, said:

“I am delighted that FatFace is supporting Carers UK through the sales of our face coverings to allow this invaluable charity to continue providing advice, information and support to unpaid carers.”
