Carers UK welcomes resources developed by CQC and Race Equality Foundation - #DeclareYourCare campaign

12 June 2019

Carers UK today welcomes new resources developed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), in partnership with the Race Equality Foundation - as part of their #DeclareYourCare campaign - saying that it mirrored earlier research on Quality of Care in 2014.

The research released by Carers UK in 2014 found that BAME carers were slightly more likely to report negative experiences of care services, and less likely to have positive experiences, compared with other carers. You can access the full report here: https://www.carersuk.org/for-professionals/policy/policy-library/care-quality-working-with-families-to-improve-the-quality-of-care

Given that some BAME groups are less likely to access care and often have concerns that it will be culturally appropriate, it is even more important that their experiences are used to improve good quality care that they can rely on.
