Carers Rights Day 2018 is on Friday 30 November and this year's theme is: Caring for Your Future.

Planning to hold an activity in your local community to help carers in your local community find out about their rights? Register your event on our website to get everything you need.

Once you've signed up you will be able to place an order for your free Carers Rights Day pack which contains 20 copies of the updated Looking after someone guide for 2019 and two posters to help you publicise your event.

Whether you host a coffee morning, benefits drop-in session or an information stand, there are loads of ways that your group can get involved and help us get information and advice to carers.

Here's what some organisations got up for Carers Rights Day 2017:

  • In England, Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust held a legal morning with a local solicitor, who spoke with carers about legal issues.
  • In Northern Ireland, Western Health and Social Care Trust ran several awareness-raising events, which were then promoted via a social media campaign on Carers Rights Day.
  • In Scotland, Aberdeenshire Carer Support Service hosted an information cafe for adult and young carers with refreshments, hand massages and mindfulness sessions.
  • In Wales, Newport City Council ran an information day with over 20 stalls offering advice to carers.
