London Marathon: terms and conditions

Terms and conditions

1. We understand that it is important for you to start training and fundraising as early as possible. We therefore aim to notify all successful applicants as soon as possible, or within a week for those who apply after November. If your application is not immediately successful we will keep a reserve list and inform you if a place becomes available.

2. In order to secure a Carers UK guaranteed place in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2016 we ask you to pledge to raise at least £1,900 (excluding Gift Aid) and pay an additional upfront non-refundable registration fee of £100* on being awarded a place. The £100 registration fee is non-refundable if you do withdraw from the event for any reason. *The £100 registration fee is NOT included in your final sponsorship target as it only covers the initial cost of your place.

3. You are personally responsible for registering to run on the Virgin Money London Marathon registration console. Failure to do so will mean you will be unable to run.

4. If Carers UK has not received any fundraising from you by 31 December 2015, or if we feel you are not committed to reaching the target, we reserve the right to remove your details from the London Marathon registration console – forfeiting your place. 5. When fundraising, participants must agree to act lawfully and follow the fundraising guidelines given by Carers UK staff. We ask that fundraisers do not do anything that may harm Carers UK's reputation or act in a manner contrary to our values.

6. If you wish to withdraw from the event for any reason, you must notify Carers UK immediately. It may be that we can re-allocate your place to someone on our waiting list. Any money raised will be retained as a donation towards Carers UK.

7. All correspondence regarding this application should be directed to Carers UK rather than the Virgin London Marathon office.

9. Black listing: If you fail to raise the £1,900 fundraising pledge, Carers UK are asked to inform the Virgin Money London Marathon. This may impact your chances of running the VMLM in the future.
