Wet, wet wet...

17 August 2014

Yey, 24 miles. Very sneaky weather today for my long run, some showers but then an all mighty thunderous downpour for the last 10 minutes, which then stopped almost as soon as I had got back home and the sun came out! Now very stiff and need to stretch properly once children are in bed tonight as the rest of the day is focusing on getting to the youth festival in Newbury.

I used to like the red hang gang when I was little and on Friday evening our house became the meeting area for a group of children including ours - with scooters and bikes. Amazingly it was not too rowdy, no arguing and they all just had fun in the garden - very surreal... as you can see at one point of coming into the house I was met with shoes – see photo attached!

I would recommend the 'American kitchen' blog which is written by a friend and is great, and I now have cups to save the hassle of conversion and last night Nathaniel and I (6) baked some cookies American style – very, very moorish and if any one remembers Sesame Street then the Cookie Monster will sound familiar and when we were on holiday our friends showed the boys the Cookie Monster video say no more and so now the boys have to do a demonstration before eating the cookies!

One week to go and over 2,400 runners now registered for the Severn Bridge half marathon which is amazing. Stretch, stretch, stretch is the order of the week... plus iron on my letters onto the Carers UK race top...
