Cuts, grazes, getting stung all in the aid of running

03 August 2014

Cuts, grazes, getting stung all in the aid of running - I think I need to carry a scythe around!

I am now in the month of the first run - Severn Bridge Half Marathon on the 24th August and in preparation will need to iron on the letters of my name onto the fabulous new Carers UK running vest but having just sewn 4 Beavers badges onto Nathaniel's Beaver top ironing on letters will be a sinch.

Long weekend as we are having our kitchen knowledge through and so we had a planner coming around in the evening to talk through some ideas which was great as this really focused our minds but oh my what a lot to think about and the reality of what needs to be done before really hit home. But, I was still in the haze of my sports massage from the Wednesday evening which was fabulous although for a couple of days afterwards my body felt very relaxed and was not really in the mood for a run on the Thursday evening but did what it was told.

Last week I mentioned loom bands and this week I ended up being volunteered to support a loom band making stall at the Daisy's Dream charity event at Newbury Race Course today which I have to say was nerve racking as you had no idea what people would ask for help with in making- thank goodness for the help of my eldest son (8) who helped out too, plus a few other 8 year old girls who happened to know everything you needed to know about loom bands. Whilst I was at the loom table where was Nathaniel and Duncan (husband) you may ask well - see the photo attached as they were also busy!

Duncan has helpfully signed me up on strava as he is keen to be competitive on my behalf - so no hiding from where I go now.....
This week - well more runs hopefully x2 and longer... argh!
