USB port - help needed

Any PC wizards out there??

Daughter having trouble with her PC recognising her iPod Nano.It connects then says USB malfunction and Nano freezes.
Is it a big job to put right?

Any advice??

Have you installed the software. ipod is Mac based? You often have to reboot PC as well. Also you can't upload normal tunes to an ipod they have to be ipod coded.

Just kidding , software installed but her pc port only 1.0 and needs be 2.0.
Going to get it sorted next few days for her but thanks for you help.
Shes using my pc in meantime.
