There are quite a few about now - we got Mum one last Christmas. Argos have have some and I've also seen one in Asda. The ones on the Argos website are listed under Alarm Clocks and prices vary.

Not sure if you have it in the UK but my mil went to the agency for the blind. They have a clock with huge digital letters and it announces the date and time on the hour. It's remarkable.
Try them. The unit is free for tthe asking and one doesn't have to be blind.
