Hi everyone
would like to take this opportunity to say hi to all from a newbie
I was wondering if anyone out there can give me some advise.
My wife is the official carer for my mum. We have recently moved out but still care for my mum. My wife cares for her for more than 35 hours a week but because we dont live with my mum anymore and we have a 5yr old, my wife cannot get to my mums until about 10.30 in the morning.
My mum asked me to ring up the social services to get a carer to come round just in the mornings, in addition to my wife being her carer because of difficulties she faces in the morning.
Is this possible? will social services supply a carer just for the morning? I understand nothing in this world is free so it may be the case that she may have some deductions from her DLA but mquite new to all this.
I was wondering if someone can give me some advise on this matter before i call social services
