Tell us a bit about yourself here.
HELLO EVERYONE
I HAVE JOINED CARERS UK AS I WAS NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK WITH HELP AND ADVICE ON THE MS SOCIETY SITE, MY HUSBAND WAS DIAGNOSED IN JUNE WITH MS, HAVING BEEN TOLD THAT HE HAD HAD 2 STROKES LAST YEAR, WE HAVE BEEN TOLD HE HAS PROBABLY HAD IT ABOUT 15 YEARS, WHAT I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND OUT IS HOW THEY DIAGNOSE THE DIFFERENT TYPES, INITIALLY WE WERE TOLD HE HAD RELAPSING REMITTING, BUT HE HAS HAD NO REMIT FROM MAY LAST YEAR HIS LEGS ARE GETIING WORSE BY THE DAY HE IS STRUGGLING ON THE STAIRS HIS MEMORY IS WORSE, HE HAS BLADDER PROBLEMS THAT HE NEVER HAD BEFORE BUT GP HAPPY TO PASS THE BUCK. AND STILL WE HAVE NOT SEEN AN MS CONSULTANT, ALTHOUGH WE DO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK. ANY HELP AND ADVICE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. SORRY IT IS ALL IN UPPER CASE BUT I HAVE POOR EYESIGHT.
Linda, hi - I don't have any experience to offer from myself on MS (dementia and cancer are my 'specialist subjects'!), but I do know that others here do have experience of caring for someone with MS, and I hope they'll be here to answer you before long.

Other than that, I just wish you welcome to the forum.

Kind regards, Jenny.

PS - I don't know if there is a way to make the font size larger for you, but perhaps one of the moderator knows??
THANKS FOR THAT JENNY, IT IS JUST NICE TO GET A REPLY, AND TO KNOW THERE IS PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO MAY POSSIBLY BE IN THE SAME BOAT, HAD NO RESPONSE FROM MS SOCIETY IN 2 WEEKS SO GAVE UP............BUT THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE MUCH APPRECIATED. LINDA X
Hi Linda and welcome :)

Can only suggest trying the MS Society again; I rang them last week, spoke to a very nice lady straight away and had a call back from a very helpful man a couple of days later who talked me through the whole diagnostic process and answered a couple of questions I had about it due to conflicting information from doctors, so it might be that you've just got lost in the system and be worth trying them again, just in case?
Linda, hi - what about trying out some of the MS patient/carer forums? They might be a bit more responsive?
