Research- Moving to Florida

Tell us a bit about yourself here.
Hello you amazing people,
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I am a registered nurse in learning disability and have been a care worker my whole life ( I started young), I also cared for my father before he passed away 3 years ago from Cancer ( as much as he would let me).

I am in the process of relocating to Orlando Florida, (I'm very lucky I know.)

It has saddened me that I am not able to continue working as an RNLD in the USA as they don't recognise my qualification.

I have a passion in empowering and improving the lives of people with disabilities, their carers and family.

So I am looking at setting up a travel/ respite/ holiday/ full care and support for people who would love to go on holiday in Orlando Florida.

I would love to create an organisation like make a wish and be able to provide dream holidays for free or heavily subsidised through a none for profit foundation.

At the moment though I am doing some research on what people would like to have in place when going on a big holiday?

Would it be a good idea to have the whole package- travel, accessible accommodation, transport, additional carers, equipment?

Would you look to book with an agent or buy it all separate?

Any other relevant information, suggestions is gratefully received.

Thank you again and remember

Hello and welcome!

What about special needs childcare? America overall needs overseas workers as there is a lack of childcare workers for that age bracket. I seriously recommend seeing if you can train as a nurse there or something. Best wishes. Use your caring experience to your advantage when looking at care jobs in Florida. Find out about their laws however beforehand.

I also believe that there is a shortage in general over there as well. Contact some home care agencies for advice and tips on how to proceed. But stay calm and patient at first. It takes some time to establish yourself in a foreign country. Have you used care.com before or not? Research the industry carefully and make notes. Read the job advertisements properly.
What a shame that the UK is going to lose you.

Do they have any qualifications for LD Nurses?
How is Florida?
