Where do I go from here.

Took my mother to hospital (Wednesday) for her two to three week assessment, was talking to a nurse, who informed me that 9 out of 10 goning in never go back to carer, and that he was not very confident for my mother. So, where do I go from here, I went to see her today and she was away with the fairies (doped up), which made me feel very guilty and angry, it was as if everybody had given up on her and that she was just waiting to die and me more convinced she will not be coming home (Staff seemed disinterested, talking between themselves) and I am in a daze, don't know what to do next. Friend's say I need to think of the future without her and returning to the dole cue and looking for a job at nearly 54 years old. After ten year's plus of caring for my mother, I just don't know which way to turn and feel really down at the moment, anybody got any good ideas or tip.

Hi Reft,

Sorry to hear you are in such difficulties, and I hope you get more replies. I am only a newbie here, but I do recognise what a lonely and isolated time you must be going through. I too was offered lots of well meaning advice, but nobody else really understands do they, be they friends or professionals, unless they have been through the same experience as you.

My only advice, for what it's worth, is to say follow your heart and instinct, and do what you feel is best for both of you.
