new carers allowance claim

All about money
My daughter was awarded DLA back at the end of July and I applied for Carers Allowance on the 1st of August.

It will be week 9 this week since I applied and I haven't heard a thing back as of yet.

Does anyone know if they have a deadline to work to or how much longer I should be expecting to wait please? xx
You should have heard back by now, but I understand from other comments on the forum recently that there are delays at the moment,

I suggest that you contact the Carers UK Adviceline team to see if they have some up to date information.
Need expert advice? You can talk to the Carers UK Adviceline five days a week, no matter where you are in the UK or how complex your query is. We do benefits checks and advise on financial and practical matters related to caring.

Freephone: 0808 808 7777
email: advice@carersuk.org

Carers UK’s advice and information team based in London is undergoing staff changes. This means the Adviceline is closed on Thursdays and Fridays whilst we recruit and train new members of staff. We will be taking calls on Monday – Wednesday between 10am and 4pm. . You can email or write to the Adviceline and we will respond to your enquiries within five working days.

The Carers UK Adviceline also includes a listening service, there for you to talk through your caring situation with a trained volunteer who understands what you are going through. Available Mondays and Tuesdays, from 10am to 4pm.

If you can’t get through on the phones (lines are often oversubscribed) then send them an email, they’ll usually get back to you within 3-5 working days.
Hi Emmy, good to hear your daughter now has DLA granted, presumably [/size]she is under 16, so she may be entitled to help from the Family Fund too. It will affect any other benefits you receive, you will probably be entitled to extra premiums, so be sure to get in touch with our CUK helpline, email is best as the phone is usually busy, and they will make sure you claim everything you are entitled to.
It's 10 weeks tomorrow now since I applied for carers allowance and my claim still hasn't been allocated :(

I spoke to someone on the phone this morning and was advised that they were working to claims from the 24th of July. Yet I know of someone who applied on the 27th of July who has had their award and first payment last week.

Bowlingbun, yes she has been awarded middle rate care dla because of her epilepsy. I'll look into all of those now, thank you for the suggestion
Hello can anyone help me please I applied for carers allowance originally 30 Aug . I called and they said normally 4 to 6 weeks but because staff off due to summer holidays it could be up to 8 weeks.
Can anyone tell me once I get a decision how long until I received a payment?
I am also having it backed from 21 Nov 2016 ( if I qualify) I also would like to know how long people had waited for the back dated payment
