HORROR story i hear is that now im hearing as a carer If universal credit comes in I WILL B FORCED TO WORK?? i cant do both.
ALSO that all claiments even if on pip all thyre ESA WILL BE CUT BY AT LEAST HALF? Am worriedxxx
Hi Shandy ... what you may have heard is false information ... there is NO compulsion for a carer , receiving Carers Allowance , to seek work once Universal Credit ( UC ) kicks in on their manor.

In fact , carers are excluded from UC if Carers Allowance is the only " Benefit " paid.

Yes , there are subtle difference when comparing" Old money " benefits with those payable under UC.

At this early stage , I recommend a full " Benefits " m.o.t. ... Carers UK has an Advice Team ... link follows :

Given the sheer volume of incoming enquiries , best to email.

Alternatively , there are several online benefit calculators which will produce a basic answer ... including the PIP element !
