PIPS and changes ?

All about money
After 2 years of being told he had Mild Cognitive Impairment ( believe me there is nothing Mild about it!) and Mixed Anxiety and Depression Disorder my husband has finally finished his barrage of testing . He was seriously ill earlier this year and this made the consultant take a complete review of his case notes and he now has his final verdict of Lewy Body Dementia . Last summer he was awarded standard rate PIPS. For both care and mobility because of his MCI /. Depression / and worn discs in spine . My question is do I need to inform the DWP of his new diagnosis and changes or do I wait until it’s ready for review in 3 years ? Will the new diagnosis change the outcome of the Pips.?

You need to determine does the new diagnose effect what has already been assessed. If you are unsure its better to report it.
It is possible that he may now be entitled to Mobility as well as Care. Email our Carers UK advisors (the phone line is temporarily out of action) and they will get back to you. If he has Mobility before he's 65, he keeps it for life, but if you claim on the day after his 65th birthday, he will NEVER be entitled. For those with mental disabilities, it now seems easier to get PIP Mobility than the previous DLA Mobility.
