What ever work you do and receive a payment. You must report to the DWP. Even if it's a one off under the weekly allowance or not. If it's was over the threshold you would not receive your carers allowance for that week.

It's better to ask questions before you take on work.

Carers allowance threshold is weekly.
What proof do the DWP need if you are paying for a carer? Do they ask to see proof of the money coming out of your bank account? Do they question the carer that you pay and ask them questions? Thanks in advance 👍
If you are paying for a carer, it should be a formal arrangement. You are the employer, they are the employee. Then there should be HMRC records etc.
I thought if you earned less than £120 per week that you didn't have to pay any tax.
You can earn £12570 before paying tax - tax code provided by HMRC will reflect this.

You don't: but some less than honest people may have multiple jobs, that's why the DWP, (who will pass the info on to HMRC) want the info.
