My father is 82, diabetic and wheelchair dependent. For a few years now a District Nurse has come to do our flu jabs. Last year the surgery said this would not happen because Dad is not on the DNs regular call list, but the DNs had their own list and came anyway. This year, the DNs say they have been told not to visit some local surgeries' patients to give flu jabs. I asked the surgery what arrangements had been made for people who could not get to the surgery - no such arrangements are in place. How many people who should get flu jabs will not this year, because it is too much hassle and/or expense?
