Our local group always go

Our local group always go to the Bond Hotel in Blackpool.
How the heck can they Justify them prices.have just looked and it's a staggering £170 per person for 3 nights on our chosen dates.Christ i'd want a week for those prices or maybe even 10 days.If we could get the redcross to deliver a frame then we'd plump for the Norbreck at 140 quid for the 2 nights
£170 for three nights is hardly expensive these days! Many hotels charge that per night!

It is when its per person.£170 for the 2 of us is more realistic.Any hows have found another website here.We had it recomemded.Just type in Blackpool and nothing else. The Shellard looks nice and prices are pretty good.We are gunna give em a ring on Monday and see whats what. All the rooms are for disabled people and fully adapted.

Thanks for the websites listed.Very useful. We have been looking for somewhere to stay this year(Silver Wedding!),and know that we cannot afford very much at all. We had a lovely holiday once,BC(before children!), in Bath, and a couple of the sites here list hotels in Bath, at a very reasonable rate, so that is where we will be intending to go. Image

Below is some info from Carer's UK that you might find useful including links if you are planning a Holiday or Weekend Break.

`You asked if we know of any hotels or guesthouses in Blackpool that cater for
disabled people in wheelchair. I regret to note that we do not provide this
specific advice. I am providing a link below to our information factsheet about
taking a break. You will see near the end contact details for Tourism for all;
Vitalise, and
The Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR). I tried to ring
the last one as they produce a reference book with places adapted for wheelchair
users, but just obtained a recorded message on 020 7250 3222.

Here below is a link to our website page with the relevant leaflet. The home
pages for the three organisations then follow:

http://www.tourismforall.org.uk/
http://www.vitalise.org.uk/Home-Page.aspx
http://www.radar.org.uk/radarwebsite/

If you are unable to find suitable accommodation with a zimmer frame, I suggest
that you contact the British Red Cross Society as they have schemes in some
parts of the UK to rent out equipment such as zimmer frames. Here is a link to
their website]http://www.redcross.org.uk/standard.asp?id=4350[/url]

Another excellent organisation to contact by telephone is Disability Information
& Support - Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde areas. Their telephone numbers are 01253
472202 or 472203 (10am - 12 midday only).

Please consider using in future our freephone CarersLine that will be back to
normal service from this Wednesday. See below for contact details including days
and times when advisers are available. Thank you for contacting Carers UK. We
may be following up on this email within the next 3 months to see if the advice
and signposting to specialist organisations proved useful for your holiday
needs. Good luck in sorting this out to your satisfaction. Kindest regards and
happy new year.
