Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of any hotels or guest houses in Blackpool that cater for disabled people in wheelchair. And as we travel by train we'd need somewhere that could supply a Zimmer Frame at the hotel as we cannot take ours with us for obvious reasons we'd be loaded up with luggage and the wheelchair and the missus requires a Zimmer Frame to be able to transfer from wheelchair to bed and toilet. We'd love to take a weekend break in the springtime but this is holding us back.Any info would be most appreciated Image
The Red Cross hire out all kinds of equipment like zimmers , wheelchairs etc for people going on holidays.
Our local group always go to the Bond Hotel in Blackpool.
Sorry Johnboy4185, I don't know any hotels that will help but agree that the Red Cross in Blackpool should be able to help with a zimmer whilst you are there.

Thanks for the reply's guys.We have so far been browsing hotels in Blackpool and surprisingly there are only a handful that cater for disabled. The Savoy,Britannia etc and the Norbreck Castle cater for disabled with things like hoists available but heck the wife aint that bad.Needless to say we telephoned them and they didn't seem all that helpful. It would seem we'd be better contacting the RedCross and see if they could loan a frame and deliver it to the hotel on our day of arrival and collect on day of departure. If they could do that then we'd almost certainly think seriously about booking the Norbreck for the weekend. The prices were reasonable at £140 for 2 nights.I guess now we can't do anything more untill after the new year unless the Redcross are open next monday.

How the heck can they Justify them prices.have just looked and it's a staggering £170 per person for 3 nights on our chosen dates.Christ i'd want a week for those prices or maybe even 10 days.If we could get the redcross to deliver a frame then we'd plump for the Norbreck at 140 quid for the 2 nights
Don't forget you will have your bonus to spend Johnboy4185 - maybe you can upgrade to a suite??? Image Image Image

That was our thoughts lol.We will both get 60 quid each so that would just about pay for a room.340 quid is ridiculous Image
Dont even entertain the Norbreck Castle
Try 'superbreaks'
they have good discounted accomodation in really good affordable hotels.
We have used them in the past and been well pleased.
