End of Life Caring

I'm a lone carer for my father who is dying. I have help Palliative Care, Macmillan came out yesterday evening and a carer, but ultimately I'm here with him alone. It's breaking my heart, but I've been strong and will remain so for his sake not mine.

I've sacrificed too much what with Covid, I isolated then gave up my job.

Just scared and finding it hard to keep my emotions together.

Apologies if I'm rambling but needed to get things off my chest.

Hi Louvaine,

My heart goes out to you.

I am glad you have posted on here, we are here for you. Others on here have experience of caring for someone at the end of their life, and will be able to offer support.

Reach out too, to family and friends.

Take each minute as it comes and just focus for now on the present. The rest can wait.

Hi Louvaine

Sorry to hear your father is so ill. I think the hours and days must feel so long. But you have some precious time left with your father. You have every right to feel scared! There are many emotions and some can make no sense. But they are real and totally normal. From feeling in control and swinging out of control. These are all normal feelings. And just go with the flow. If you feel like screaming and crying just do it. It will help to release some of the tension.
