We thats the old doll and me have got our council tax sorted at the new house however one of our neighbours informed me that they pay full council tax and he`s in wheelchair so they are to apply for disability grant .

My next door neighbour also pays full council tax but he is registered blind he gets disability benefits and the bathrooms are all converted to wet rooms will his disability ie registered blind be classed as substantialy disabled ? for council tax discount .



the old doll got her full 50% discount we also got the disability allowance
and the carers premium of 25% .

from about £900 ive had to pay £177 so iam a happy GEORGE

Local Authorities apply the disability discount differently so it's hard to say but I would recommend that everyone applies for discounts/benefits that they think that they are entitled to, preferably with the help of a welfare rights adviser, they can only be turned down. I spent years not claiming things I knew I was entitled to and I now regret it.
