You have to email your question so he can avoid the difficult ones, don't forget, Ivan says carers don't want to be classed as a workforce, can carers uk agree with what the minister says? They agree with everything else that this corrupt government come out with
Who told Ivan Lewis we did not want to be classed as a 'workforce'. Considering that someone from the 'workforce' has to come in and do what I do for free, I am definately part of the 'workforce'. Just not paid Image
It really angers me that I have to work to pay someone to do an inferior job Image
I agree, Myrtle. Every carer I have spoken to about this subject feels that we deserve at least the minimum wage.

After all, Carers Allowance (I'm sure it's called that because children get an "allowance" - pocket money) is the lowest benefit but requires us to work for 35 hours a week to get it. And a government minister actually used the word "work". They cannot have it both ways - but they seem to be getting away with it.
I posed him a question about why being someones partner , husband, wife etc suddenly means you also become carer . he did answer he question , take a look at the DRC site my question was the third one I think.

thanks sally cooper
Overall I found the debate a total waste of time, I bet all the questions on carers allowance were imediately weaned out to not be answered.
Why didn't they get someone with balls to put questions to the muppet? , when asked about a spending review he skipped answering by saying
It is more than my job's worth,
