Does anyone know of any countries that provide Full Time students with some form of Carers Allowance? I know that even if other countries do provide CA to full tume students it doesnt mean the UK has to do it, it can only persuade them.

I've spoken to a local law centre and they are busy until 23rd of April and I've had 2 pieces of coursework and Sarah has been ill so the tribunal was at the back of my mind. Image
Hey again

I've recently contacted my local BBC news about the situation today with student Carers, they came round today and did a short interview with me and Sarah and it's available online here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7390612.stm

I've been told that it'll be on the local news (Points West) at 6]http://www.carersuk.org/images/icon_smile.gif[/img].

All the best Image
That was brilliant Alex, you both covered the restrictions so well.
Thanks for sharing it.I hope if more students see this that your numbers will increase and changes be made.

Alex,

Since I am much much older than you Image Image ,I have no idea if there are any forums online for students. If there is, have you thought of sharing your links on them to raise awareness among other students??

Only way to do it is through Student Unions and facebook, i've put up a link on my student union forum but not a lot of students access it. I think the NUS will be my next port of call to tell about the current situation with student carers.
Alex,

My 2 lasses not at uni but have friends that are.If you and Sarah give your permission I will ask them to put the links on their Facebooks and Myspace .

Lets see if we can use the power of the internet to spread your message.

Yeah that is absolutely fantastic Image. I've had numerous e-mails from long lost friends about the issue and they all support it.

Thanks

Hi there

congratulations Alex for raising this issue so prominently. The NUS would be a powerful ally....maybe they could get the TUC to take up...?

I'm sure the CF trust would also back this campaign, they have a huge media and political profile, and obviously do a lot for Alex you and Sarah are probably in touch with them but if others want to contact them:
