Bidding on housing association properties.

It sounds like your area uses points, too. So it could be that these people have more points than you at this point in time. BUT, before you get too disheartened by this, a lot of housing associations also assess you on suitability as well now.

This means that you can no longer apply for a property that would bee deemed as "unsuitable" for you. Which, in our area translates as "You can't apply for a bungalow if you are under 50 (Going up to 55 soon)". If, at the end of bidding, anyone fits into these areas, you could find that you will move up the list without even knowing it.

My daughter 36 years old applied only for a bungalow because of disability. She didn't want a downstairs flat as they very often put young people and un-desirables in the flats around here, plus it will now hopefully be the home for the rest of her life. She also requested a two bedroomed one as if she is ill she would need a carer to sleep in, so lots of thought given to her application. We had to have a G.P's letter supporting this and provide evidence of her disability with hospital letters etc.
Once she was on the list it took about 12 months for her to get one and this was because she was second on the list - the first one refused it and she accepted it.
It's lower down our street so handy if she needs us, plus she can get around in her powered chair.
Keep trying and good look, your time will come I am sure as you get closer to the top of the list.
