The DWP has just published the proposed benefits upratings for April 2008 to March 2009. In April next year Carer's Allowance will increase from the current £48.65 to £50.55, the Carer's Pemium paid with means-tested benefits will increase from the current £27.17 to £27.75.

That is great £2.58 per

That is great £2.58 per week more that is really going to help carers a great deal, and I suppose CUK think this is wonderful.

Carers Uk's position on CA has been made clear on so many occasions Tony. We think th erate of Carer's Allowance is a disgrace and an insult. That's why we're campaigning for a radical overhaul of all carers benefits and taxes.

It is all words you

It is all words you keep saying this but we are not seeing any differenceat our level, do you expect to just dumbly beleive the same story time and time again we need to see action not words.

Tony, instead of attacking everything that carersuk does or says, why dont you tell everyone how you would solve this problem overnight, the insult the government is going to increase carers allowance and the carers premium in 2008 is a joke we all know that but again what is your solution? It is so easy to attack this charity, if you are so against it why dont you stand for election become a trustee, change the organisation from within Image Image

ive sent dozens of emails

Hear hear.

It is easy to criticise, hard to come up with constructive ways forward. Even harder when you're a trustee of a charity trying to squeeze every last drop out of the cash you receive to make it as effective as you can.
