Smoking being linked to cognitive decline

For issues specific to caring for someone with mental ill health.
I read a news article recently linking smoking to accelerated decline of memory

I am truly intrigued by the many health implications that are now being linked to smoking especially not just physical as previous concerns. Therefore would like to see a more aggressive campaign to eradicate this habit from society, just wonder what other people’s thoughts on this matter are?
I could believe this. Smoking has certainly been liked to macular degeneration, which affects sight. It seems as though its only now that so many of the problems are coming to light.
I think there is more than enough aggressive campaigning against those who smoke already, people are more than aware of dangers as it is.

To be brutally honest, I am sick and tired of the ever increasing Big Brother attitude of this present government in practically every aspect of our lives already.
Forcing people into a corner doesn't defeat them, it just makes them more determined to carry on doing what they are doing.
It would be interesting to know how many of "our" MPs are smokers.
