treating psychosis with clozapine any advice?

For issues specific to caring for someone with mental ill health.
Hi i am quite new to this forum although I set up a username, etc and posted a few things then all of a sudden I couldnt get on anymore! anyway I have started again and am now on to ask some advice about clozapine.

My son is 24 and has been suffering for about 4 months with voices, low mood, paranoia, etc.at first doctor and crisis team thought it was drug induced and that it would get better after about a couple of weeks, that hasnt happened and he has been on olanzapine, aripipridol and now he has just been admitted to hospital to be put on clozapine as the others didnt make any difference.Does anyone know anything about this drug,I have read about it but just wanted to see what anyone elses experience is like?I am keeping everything crossed that this works for him as I feel so helpless and just want him to be ok again if thats possible. Welcome back to the forum Image

I am a mental health Carer too but I do not have any experience with the medication, unfortunately Image

Medication work differently with different patients with different conditions. So I can understand there were some changes of meds, although I does not help us to feel any better...My mentally ill husband call himself as walking chemist because of the amount of medication he has to take every day & more than once a day. For his mental health, there are 3 different types of tablets he takes but, he gets ups and downs still.

Hope other folk can give you some input shortly.
