Car insurance

For issues specific to caring for someone with mental ill health.
I am thinking about getting car insurance for my partner. She has a diagnosis of psychosis/schizophrenia (depending on the dr!) but has been completely symptom free for 4 years. We are lucky in that the meds work 100% for her. I don't think there will be any problem with the DVLA as our doctor will support her application. However, is car insurance sky high? Does anyone have experience of getting car insurance with this diagnosis? If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost? Many thanks for any information.
Just in case anyone else comes across this post when looking for information....the DVLA confirmed that my partner is fine to continue with her full licence. We phoned our insurer (Hastings) who noted it on the policy but did not increase the premium - so that is a relief. Good luck to anyone else who finds themselves in this predicament. With us it worked out fine but it took DVLA a very long time to work through the process (2 months)
Glad it got sorted.

I guess the DVLA have to be 'careful'. Remember that hideous crash a few weeks ago when two 80 year olds with a caravan went down the FAST lane of a motorway THE WRONG WAY.....and killed a young man of 30 heading towards them.

(I still can't really believe that one - ie, that it actually happened. WHY did the caravan driver not INSTANTLY pull over on to the hard shoulder when he saw THREE LANES of cars heading TOWARDS him????)
