Any mental health carers out there (non-Alzheimers etc)?

For issues specific to caring for someone with mental ill health.
Hi

Just wondered if there are any carers of relatives with mental health problems on the forum i.e. schizophrenia or bi-polar. I find it difficult to find others in this situation or who have been a carer of a relative with these conditions, as I was until recently.
If there's anyone out there, I'd love to hear from you.
Hi, Welcome Image
Yes, my brother is schizophrenic.
At the moment he is doing very well and hasn't had a serious episode for a few years.
It's been a rocky road, sometimes harder than I could explain.
Frustrating too sometimes.
Feel free to pm me if you want a chat
xx
I'm caring for a vascular dementia sufferer but who has severe mental health problems as well. Also care for a Bi-polar sufferer too.
Hi

Thanks for responding. After I posted the comment, I discovered that there is actually a section for Mental Health Carers (oops!) on the Board Index. It's just that it can be so difficult to make contact with other mental health carers sometimes. Best wishes to all of you x
Its ok Caring42 - I've moved the topic to the Mental Health board but left a "shadow" here so you can find it.
I care for my husband he cares for me as I have boarderline personality disorder
Hiya, My son is schizophrenic - delusional disorder, psychosis & is on the autistic spectrum...

I'm going through a real tough time at the moment with my 24 year old son.
