Learning Disabled

For issues specific to caring for someone with learning disabilities
I don't know if it's just me but I prefer the use of 'Learning disabled' far better than 'Learning disabilities'. Learning disabled kind of makes more sense to the 'layperson' I think who doesn't understand what is really meant by Learning disabilities like we do. What do you think?
Learning disabled is a term I've never used. I usually say my son was brain damaged at birth or has severe learning difficulties.
