The snooker stretches a few unused muscles, gets the grey matter working, sustains
co ordination between brain, eyes, and body and is OK when weather is not suitable for metal detecting, its also a very social activity..........but if you excel at it ...it can be a sign of a miss-spent youth.

Obviously, I haven't been able to do much metal detecting over the past few years, but now things are bit different. I shall look forward to getting some detecting time in during the summer months.......but the weather and ground conditions have to be suitable, especially when you are getting on a bit, and no I wont be taking the dog with me.

Finds from many years ago comprise of roman coins, modern coins, jewellery, rings, and many more items to numerous to mention, I like working the beaches as well.

You're right - snooker is great for co-ordination, which is probably why I've never been good at it.

Your finds sound great. I think we'll have to set up a hobby thread in the social area so you can hopefully post photos and tell us all about it. I tried metal detecting my garden once, but all I found were some coins from the 70s that I probably dropped anyway.

Have you looked at the social area yet? It's a tiny bit quiet as people are still getting used to the new forum, but it will soon pick up again.

Try turning your keyboard upside down and tapping it..............I find that generally gets rid of all the breadcrumbs..............

The greyhound sounds lovely. I know that when they're older they can make very good pets and they have such a gentle, lovely demeanour, I'm sure the dog will be a great companion for you both. I'd get one myself, but am allergic to dogs.

I'm glad you have some help. It sounds like you're coping pretty well at the moment, but I hope you call on the help available when you need it, because it's easy to get ground down by full time caring.

With a small screwdriver you can pry off the offending key, thereby accessing the crumbs, peanuts, and pizza slices hidden underneath.

With mine, I found a heck of a lot of dog fur. I'm thinking of doing it more frequently, and maybe using the fur for a nice soft doggy bed.
