Time to sort out plans then. Is he claiming Attendance Allowance? Had a Needs Assessment from Social Services? Carers Assessment for you? Power of Attorney? Will? Paying towards the costs of living? Paying you for the care you provide?

Hi, I'd read through your post in the hope that I might be able to offer some comfort as someone who works on an elderly care ward and sees your situation all too often. I'm so sorry to hear that your mum has passed away. Dementia is such a wicked disease, and leaves us grieving for a person as they continue to live. I now find myself on the flip side of the coin, as we go through my father in laws dementia journey. It's far from comforting to know what lies ahead. I really hope that your dad moving in with you works out, and you can enjoy reminiscing about your lovely Mum together xx

HI Anna
I did reply last night but it seems to have disappeared. I am so sorry for your loss. you do sound remarkably calm for being in such a sad situation. I am pleased to read that you are being realisitic with Dad. Do expect emotions to ebb and flow, we are here whenever you need us

Very sorry to hear of your loss, Anna. As with my mum, I suspect you lost "her" some time ago before her death. Nevertheless, a difficult time for you. Yes, please take caring for your dad one day at a time. We will be here for you when you want to talk.
