For issues specific to caring for someone with dementia.
Do you think this would work for my mum who has lost her sense of smell? I need a decent night's sleep! Perhaps, as others have said, it's the massage that's doing the trick.
I only used it like hand cream and it worked for me. Sometimes I forget to use it though!

My friend happened to mention this today. She is a very poor sleeper, and can't believe the last few nights she has slept through, not even asking for the loo! Used on her hands, bit on her chest, and a tiny bit on her forehead. Going to get me some, although I will only use on my hands. Can't use too much lavender, otherwise it will have the opposite effect.

Hilary, even if she can't smell the lavender, it can be absorbed through the skin.

You could mix lavender essential oil in a carrier oil or buy it pre-mixed.
