If Cloudygal can't receive messages or can she , can you pass this on or something.
It may interest you as well.

Wasn't sure if I was allowed to post a link about this place on the forum didn't want to get in trouble.

https://www.hnha.co.uk/our-services/the ... xtra-care/

Sounds fantastic, I have not been there but have heard about it.

Anyway if you can pass it on?

or if you are allowed to post it on the forum.

Thank you

Thank you so much for sending that link to Melly. Its definitely the kind of place that could well suit. I will keep an eye out for similar close to home.

It's good to get an idea of what's around

Thanks for posting it here.

Had a bit of a tricky day today. few days actually so the time is coming closer for this kind of thing.
In Hampshire there is something called SARG, Supported Adults Residential Group. They hold details of everyone looking for housing who has very special needs, and they plan and build what is needed in conjunction with providers and the NHS. This is the place to start. Very often the flats are provisionally allocated before they are built!

Thank you for your reply.

Support on site does seem most ideal..I agree.

I am sorry it didn't work out for your daughter. That is a shame especially after 11 years..what went wrong?,

My son is 24

Social services have not come up with anything yet.
I suspect they are not keen to tell people of vacancies even if they come up as it means they then have to do a full support package instead of parents doing it!

Hi Cloudygal, sorry it took me so long to reply. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what went wrong with A's placement. I think she didn't receive the kind of support she was expecting and the staff didn't get the response they were expecting from her for the support they were willing to give her. They kept changing her schedule because they thought whatever one was in place wasn't working, which confused her. She then developed health issues, which the staff didn't make allowances for and she said she wanted out about the same time as they also wanted her out.

She still has those health issues, both physical and mental, and hasn't been out of the house for several years now. One major problem she has is her hair which is unmanageable and she won't get it cut or let me help her with it. Now, with the current situation, everything's on hold anyway.

What future plans do you have for your daughter as supported living didn't work out?,
