Hi
I love Sci-fi. Subsequently, i am watching some old Sci-fi movies tonight. I have watched Them! and now i am watching War Of The Worlds (1953), Later i will watch When Two Worlds Collide.

Do you like old sci-fi movies? If so, what is your favorite one?
I've always enjoyed sci-fi, and some of the old 50s B movies were great fun.

I think my favourite has to be Them! - it has everything. If you watch it carefully and compare it with Jaws, in many respects the monster reveal is handled the same way. And of course, it had Edmund Gwynne in the scientist role. And if you look carefully, you'll see a few people who became much bigger names later on - James Arness, of Gunsmoke fame, Fess Parker (later best known for Davy Crockett on TV), and in a very minor role (uncredited) as an Army Telex Operator, Leonard Nimoy, who became best known as Spock in Star Trek, of course.

Great fun.

You should try the Incredible Shrinking Man (1957). I'm sure Marvel got some of their Ant Man ideas from that.
Love love, love Sci-Fi :D

Films ? Any and all of the original Star Trek ones.
Currently watching the 1999 series of Farscape on the Horror Channel (6pm weekday evenings) and the re-run of the original Star Trek series on the same channel (clearly remember watching those first time round with my Dad !).
Susieq, I used to love Star Trek as a kid, and have to admit that I still enjoy it. Doctor Who was one of my favourite shows as a little one. For most of the last 60 years.

I enjoyed Farscape, but seven years ago my carers centre was approached by a few volunteers who set up a sci-fi fundraiser, and Virginia Hey (the blue woman in Farscape) was one of the guests, along with John Levene (Sergeant Benton from Doctor Who), some other Bond girls and assorted Cybermen...

I don't like that film, not only has it got a Bloody Big Bas***d Spider in it,it shows Cats in a bad light.
Ok...try the Amazing Colossal Man. I think it was the inspiration for Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, starring Daryl Hannah.
Don't miss the current run of, 'The Outer Limits', on
Free view TPTV. Friday evenings 8pm
My favourite are Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004) and Dune (2021)
