Spot on: I started my scabby-kneed life as a juvenile Leeds fan as a kid back in the 1950's, but loved the world-class excitement of Newcastle and always wished them well. I only wish my dad had the time to take me to a few more matches.
Moving to Scotland 25 years ago, I guess that Rangers - despite their somewhat dodgy public relations and whacky sectarian side, always struck me as the right team to support, because of their great fanbase, amazing long history and traditions. The only way to beat the tiny minority of haters, is to become the majority of normal family football people and thereby, to marginalise them.

Scally, I'm a West Ham supporter. Have been since '66 - Bobby Moore was my hero. Still follow the Hammers for my sins! My Mum is a Brentford supporter - born and bought up there. She always reminds me of the time when my Granddad (her dad) came to visit. My dad took him to watch Brentford playing Aldershot. Mum asked Granny 'Mum, what do you think Dad would like for his tea?' Granny replied 'you'll need to watch the scores - if they win, he'll have whatever you put in front of him. If they lose, then it will be 'just a cup of tea' 'till he calms down' . Unfortunately they lost, so when they got home, Mum asked him 'Dad, what would you like for tea?' to which he replied 'just a cup of tea'. Now, whenever Brentford lose, Mum always says, I'll just have a cup of tea!
I always find the teams lower down the league more interesting - even the non-league ones - come on Eastleigh!!

Always been a Liverpool supporter since my childhood, despite being a Southerner. I think I fancied Kevin Keegan as a child :D Huge admirer of the late great Bill Shankly and high hopes for this season and Jurgen Klopp, despite the draw last weekend.

Please tell your daughter I'm shouting " come on you blues" lol!
The 1st footie match I ever went to was blues v Aston villa. No idea about it, just trying to be with to impress my boyfriend( now my hubby) . Didn't realise they had swapped over, so shouted ' yes' when villa scored!! Whoops. Luckily hubby laughed at me and thought I was sweet . Treasured memory. Oh and hubby still supports blues.

Living in Wolverhampton, she puts a blues scarf in her front window on Wolves match days as she's not far from Molineux.
