Hi

What did everyone do with their little bit of spare time you had while the forum was down?
I have been going through boxes of photographs and photo albums too. I found lots of little bits that I can stick in the diary I am making . I found swimming badges from school I found a spelling award , a high jump award and lots of other memory filled items.

I rang my mum and asked her to look through some photos and she found one of me that was taken on May Sunday walks!!..My hair was a mass of curls because mum had twisted my hair in tight little curls and pinned with hair grips. She took them out the next day and I had an affro as big as Michael Jacksons in his early years !!.

I am enjoying making a diary for my soon to be grandchild

I had a massive cutting out and sewing session in preparation for my holiday. ? Three weeks today I shall just be having supper in the hotel after my flight. So excited at the prospect already.
Well, I had a new boiler installed and got on with weeding/planting in the garden

Tilly, what a lovely idea! I think I may put some thought into doing this myself. As all my parents aunt and uncle have now passed away I have an abundance of bits and pieces which are currently on a box. Putting them into some sort of book with an explanation seems to me a wonderful way to pass on some family history. Enjoy your project!

Hi Bell

It was my macmillan nurses idea. I didn't want my soon to be grandchild to see me like this and think this was always how my life was. I want him/her to keep it forever and be amazed at my very full life!

Enjoy making it Bell :cheer:

Hi Bowling and Susieq.

Wow you both seem to have kept busy!

Tilly
Helped my daughter buy a new car, done on impulse but they had exactly the one she wants and she picks up this Sat.
I was helping test out the new forum, as were the other mods, got busy catching up with friends on facebook, did a lot of cross stitch.

Tilly, was the link I posted about memory boxes helpful to you??
Tilly, I also managed to track down my second cousin on facebook ovdr the weekend, she is a month older than me and we used to live close together and go to school together and were in the same class, we had lots of catching up to do.
Funny this discussion about keepsakes and memories as my daughter bought me this as one of my Mothers day presents

Idea is you give it as a gift to someone for them to fill in and return to you, hence title of From you to me. The journal is hardbacked and beautiful. 60 questions to be answered about my life, family, friends and so many more. When complete I give it back to our Sarah.

I have just purchased one for a friend of mine to fill in but instead of giving it to me, give it to her granddaughter.
