Favourite car trips

Hi All

Now we're getting nearer Easter I wondered what car trips you like going on?

For me, I love the feeling of turning onto the M3 from the M25 (once you're passed the sewage works) and heading towards Southampton or Bournemouth.

Always gives me a holiday feeling.

How about you?

I'm fortunate enough to be starting near your destination! I love going west down to Devon or Cornwall. When I get to the "pink castle" in Honiton it really feels like I'm on holiday. The "pink castle" had turned into a Salmon castle last time I saw it and is in fact an old castellated toll house.

M69 from Leicester to the M6, M42, M5 down to Devon. Get off at Jct 27: I know we're on the best bit, driving on the A361, all hills with glorious views of North Devon.

Which I'll be driving down in about 28 hours...give or take...with a decent selection of rock music, with an occasional smattering of classical just to change the mood a bit...
