Hiya all

How do you all cope in heat like this? I currently have water pistols out for the kids and sat with the wife in the shade.

Anyone find FND and ME sufferers struggle more with the heat with pain?

M :D
Hi M,

Too hot for us too! S struggles to regulate his body temperature and can over heat even when others think its a cool day.

Water pistols sound fun. Hopefully the kids will burn of plenty of energy and sleep well tonight, even if its another hot night.

I don't have experience of FND or ME but I think heat lowers the ability to tolerate pain. I had one hip operation during a heatwave (hospitals are too hot even when it's not a heatwave and their windows rarely open more than a chink) definitely pain felt worse when too hot.

Put your feet in a bowl of cold water, dampen your clothes, or do what I've just done, have a nap!
Far too hot for me too ! There was a time when I'd have been in my element with these temperatures but the older I get the less I can take it - now in my 70's low 20c's is as much as I can cope with

I did take my early morning cuppa into the garden at 7am - but apart from that I've been indoors all day with curtains drawn against the sun. I'm hoping it will have cooled down enough by 9pm to go out and water the garden !
Hi all
Yesterday I planted some bizzie in container's at 7.15am.Sun was fierce even then. Was well covered in sun screen.
Tried to read a magazine under the parasol today as am a bit fed up of being indoors. Even then I was too hot. Gave up. I've never been very good in intense heat but am worse now. Skin very sensitive to the sun. Very lethargic today.
Sue, am hoping it's cooled down for you. I've not long come in from watering the garden and it's no better here! Plants are parched, and I am now even more hot and sticky! No breeze at all. Just to think in June we were almost growing webbed feet!

Unfortunately not Pet ! Hoping it might be a tad cooler today so that I can get out there this evening. Luckily the lawn is OK - so far ! It had a special treatment earlier in the year that helps to hold the water; then we had the really heavy rainfall at the beginning of last week and we've had heavy dews the last couple of nights.
Definitely not cooler today! Already boiling at 8 this morning! Looks like I'm putting my t-shirt in the freezer to see if that helps! 🤣🥵

Plenty of ice cream an soaking feet in the pool, although I do still need to work from home 🙈
I didn't need to go out today, so it's been fairly short jersey cotton shorts and a cotton vest top. No fashion awards but so comfy. Once eldest son has finished in the shower, I'll give all my pots and hanging baskets a good drink. As the basket "tree" is on the patio, it gets full sun all day. I line the coir linings with black (rubbish sack) plastic, and then put a flower pot saucer in the middle, before adding the compost. This means that area of the basket is always moist. Then I stab the black plastic with a sharp skewer, so that any excess water drains away, but slowly. The plants all seem to like this.
Too hot here too. No breeze and air not moving. Temperature seems static. Upstairs roasting. Towns and cities really hold the heat at night.
