My daughter's much loved dog steals socks if she gets the chance, and definitely knows the word treat, so that one was real to me me!
When we had a dog, it was one of a litter of pups that my Mum's dog had had. A girl who worked with my wife had another of the pups and so we got regular updates on how it was getting on.
She used to leave her dog with her Mum when she went to work. Her Mum lived on the ground floor of a block of flats and all of the ground floor flats had their own bit of the garden just outside their flat. One particular day the dog was outside for most of the time just lying on the grass and her Mum was regularly checking that she was OK.
After a couple of hours she went into her kitchen and got a bit of a shock. Her immediate neighbour had a large collection of garden gnomes in her part of the garden: the dog had collected over a dozen of these gnomes and brought them back into the kitchen.
